Berlynco Opens #GuruKaGlow Teacher's Day 2026 Nominations Across India

For immediate release · 21 August 2026

A former Chief Election Commissioner, an ENT professor and a museum curator are judging India's teachers this Teacher's Day. Berlynco's #GuruKaGlow invites students across India to nominate the teacher who shaped them. Winners are decided half by public vote and half by an expert jury panel. Entry is free.

Most Teacher's Day campaigns end with a hashtag. Berlynco, a science-led Indian D2C skincare brand, decided to end this one with a jury.

Its Teacher's Day 2026 campaign, #GuruKaGlow, asks students, alumni and mentees anywhere in India to nominate a teacher, professor or mentor on Instagram and say — in their own words — why that person mattered. Nominations opened on Guru Purnima, 29 July 2026. The Grand Finale falls on Teacher's Day, Saturday 5 September 2026.

What separates it from the usual seasonal campaign is how winners are chosen. Half of every nominee's score comes from public engagement. The other half comes from an expert panel drawn from public service, arts and culture, and medicine:

  • Om Prakash Rawat — former Chief Election Commissioner of India, Election Commission of India
  • Dr. Ravi Meher — Director Professor and Head, Department of ENT and Head & Neck Surgery, Maulana Azad Medical College
  • Anamika Pathak, PhD — TEDx speaker; former Curator of Decorative Arts, National Museum, Janpath, New Delhi; President, Textiles and Clothing Research Centre, New Delhi

The jury scores against a published framework: Student Impact (30%), Authenticity (25%), Inspiration & Values (20%), Community Support (15%), and Overall Merit (10%). Publishing the weightings was deliberate — nominations that win on merit rather than follower count.

Free to enter, and nobody leaves empty-handed

There is no entry fee and no purchase requirement. A student tags their teacher on the #GuruKaGlow post at @berlynco_india, shares a memory, and follows the page.

The Grand Winner receives the Berlynco Glow Mentor Award — a couple's holiday, a full year of Berlynco skincare, and a featured tribute film. Four runners-up receive premium hotel and spa vouchers. Weekly winners receive an anti-ageing hamper and a guaranteed place in the finale. Every student who takes part receives a free product or a store voucher.

Weekly winners announced so far include Rajni Gagneja (Delhi), Joyeeta Sarkar (West Bengal), Manoj Tyagi (Noida), Dr. Tapas Bapari (West Bengal) and Mrs. Ruby (Delhi). One Week 1 honour was awarded posthumously.

Nominations run through August 2026. Finalists are revealed in late August, the jury reviews from 1–3 September, and the Grand Winner is announced on 5 September, with winner stories through 10 September.
